Assistex Matching Game Activity Board for Men | Memory Care & Dementia Activity

A fishing scene, a familiar telephone, a favorite sport: this Assistex matching game brings everyday interests into a picture-based activity for adults. The men's edition includes five themed boards and 37 matching cards, with hobbies, tools, vintage items, classic cars, and sports to explore. Cards fit into recessed spaces on the boards, offering a visible place to match each picture without making speed or a score the focus.

We carry this at EOWD because choosing an adult activity starts with the person's interests, not assumptions about their age or gender. For caregivers selecting a memory-care activity, the range of themes offers several starting points to introduce and follow the person's response. Adults choosing the set for themselves can select the pictures they enjoy. The included conversation-prompt flyers offer optional questions for the moments when someone wants to talk; matching quietly is an equally welcome way to participate.

This set supports picture matching and optional conversation; it does not treat dementia, Alzheimer's, or cognitive decline or replace professional care. Responses and abilities vary. Offer supervision appropriate to the person's needs, check cards and boards for damage, and keep loose pieces away from anyone who may mouth or swallow them. Stop or adapt the activity if it causes distress, and follow individualized care guidance.

An old camera or a garden scene can be a place to start.
Find a theme that invites interest, and let the person set the pace.
